Man in court on nine shoplifting charges in Yeovil – including candles

A MAN is due in court accused of stealing alcohol, candles and beauty products from Yeovil shops.

Liam Allen, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Yeovil Magistrates’ Court today (January 17) charged with nine counts of theft from a shop.

The 34-year-old also faces one charge of assault by beating.

The shoplifting charges relate to nine separate incidents in the Yeovil area between December 4 and January 12 in which alcohol, candles and health and beauty products were stolen.

The assault by beating charge relates to an incident at a shop in Yeovil on December 5 in which a security guard was allegedly pushed, Avon and Somerset Police said.
