RESIDENTS in Gillingham are being asked to roll up their sleeves and take part in a community litter pick as part of a nationwide campaign to keep towns and villages clean and green.

The Great British Spring Clean litter pick will take place on Saturday, March 21, starting at 10am, and will focus on tidying up streets, parks and open spaces across the town.

People are welcome to take part for as little as an hour or for the full two-hour session, with every contribution helping to improve the local environment.

All equipment will be provided by Gillingham Town Council, and volunteers of all ages are encouraged to get involved.

A spokesperson for the council said the event is a great opportunity for the community to come together and make a visible difference, while supporting a national initiative that promotes pride in local areas.
