Leweston performing arts scholarships deadline fast approaching

SCHOLARSHIPS are available at Leweston School for budding actors and more – but get your applications in soon!

The deadline for applications to the sixth form performing arts scholarship at the school is on January 26.

Scholarships offer a fixed-price remission, as well as participation in choirs, concerts, ensembles and musical and drama productions, as well as a personal mentor, masterclasses and lectures from visiting professionals.

“The Leweston Performing Arts Department fosters interest in all aspects of performing arts through high-quality teaching and high-profile performance opportunities,” a spokesperson said.

“Opportunities to star on stage at Leweston start early and continue throughout the school.

“There are several productions during the year, which recently included 9 to 5, Sister Act, Matilda and Six.”

Pupils will be performing Les Miserables in March, with the new scholarship launched ahead of the September 2024 school year.

“Leweston offers both A Level Music and Drama and Theatre Studies and can support students with adjustments to the timetable to help manage the commitments of the scholarship,” the spokesperson went on.

“If you can demonstrate exceptional talent in at least two of the three main disciplines of musical theatre, singing, drama or dance, as well as commitment to and enthusiasm for performance, then visit https://info.leweston.co.uk/sixth-form-scholarships2024 to apply before Friday, January 26.
