POLICE have launched an investigation after six motorbikes were reportedly stolen from Blandford’s town centre in just three weeks.
The force received six reports of motorbikes being stolen in Blandford’s town centre from August 15 to 29.
Officers said their investigation is ongoing and they are doing “all they can” to identify those responsible.
“Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a moped, scooter or motorbike,” a spokesperson said.
“Our detailed enquiries are continuing into the recent reports we have received and we would encourage anyone who wishes to speak with an officer to please get in touch,” they added.

Motorbike owners are being asked to undertake a range of precautions to ensure their property remains secure.
This includes using a disc lock to help secure the front brake disc, or a grip lock to secure the brake and throttle controls, as well as chaining the vehicle to a secure object and using a cover to make the bike less attractive.
“When at home, the best place to keep your motorcycle is in a garage or shed. If this is not an option, park it in an area near to your home where it’s well overlooked with good lighting,” a spokesperson added.
“Unfortunately, security measures cannot guarantee your bike won’t be stolen, but by using multiple security measures, you can make it harder and less attractive for thieves.”
