AN HGV driver was charged with drink-driving after a lorry verturned on the A303 near Mere on Saturday morning (February 21).
The incident, at around 8am, closed the road for around seven hours while recovery and investigations took place.
Ion Triboi, a Moldovan national, was taken into custody and charged with drink driving. He is due before before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on April 6.
Police said the crash shut both carriageways of the A303 east of Mere but thankfully there were no reported injuries.
However, 51-year-old Triboi was taken to hospital before being charged.
