Clarke’s Auctions at Semley is holding its April sales next weekend. The lovely spring weather we’ve enjoyed recently has brought out some interesting garden items for sale… Outdoor furniture up for auction includes a well-weathered teak octagonal garden table and six matching chairs, carrying an estimate of £100–£200 (pictured right), and large Mediterranean terracotta olive jars with estimates from £60 upwards.
The furniture section is full of fascinating finds, including a 19th-century mahogany Secretaire chest, a Victorian walnut four-tier whatnot, a pair of mid-century Modernist chairs, a Victorian burr walnut, kingwood and ormolu Credenza with mirrored doors, a stylish set of four French Soudex Vinyl stainless steel and white vinyl armchairs, a pair of Chinese hardwood vase stands with inset marble tops, a late-19th-century French chinoiserie lacquered two-seater sofa, mahogany and oak chest of drawers, an Edwardian triple wardrobe, occasional tables, pews and other items.
Clarke’s colour catalogue can be found online at the-saleroom.com and easyliveauction.com. Viewing is on Thursday 7 April between 9am and 5pm.
Clarke’s offers free home visits to value items for consignment into all future sales and is open for free verbal valuations Monday to Friday at the salerooms behind the Kingsettle Antique Centre on Station Road, Semley.
All enquiries should be directed to either Richard Clarke or Karen Marshall on 01747 855109.
