A GANG of teenagers tried to rob a man in his 80s in a Dorchester street.
The incident happened in the Trinity Street area some time between 1pm and 2.30pm on Monday, December 23, Dorset Police said.
“The victim – a local man aged in his 80s – was approached by a group of people aged in their late teens,” a spokesperson said.
“It is reported that the group took the man’s walking stick and hit him on his legs.”
PC Paul Humber, of Dorset Police, said: “Thankfully, the victim did not sustain any lasting serious injuries.

“This incident occurred in a busy area in the days leading up to Christmas when a lot of people would have been out in the town centre.
“I would ask anyone who saw what happened, or captured anything of relevance on footage, to please get in touch.”
