Four seriously injured in A30 crash outside Shaftesbury

FOUR people were taken to hospital after a crash near Shaftesbury on Friday evening.

The incident happened on the A30 just outside the town at around 6pm and involved a silver BMW and a black Toyota Verso.

The BMW was travelling towards Shaftesbury and collided with the Verso, which was heading in the opposite direction.

The driver of the BMW, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to Southampton Hospital was life-threatening injuries.

A woman in her 40s, who was driving the Verso, was taken to Salisbury Hospital along with two children who were also in the car. All three suffered serious injuries.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dashcam footage around that time. They should contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597, quoting log number 260 of November 17. They can also email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk.
