A SHOWING of a film in Tarrant Launceston will delve into how the process of rewilding helped to save a 400-year-old estate in West Sussex
A screening of Wilding is taking place at The Workshop at Launceston Farm on November 6.
The film tells the story of a young couple battling entrenched tradition, who dare to place the fate of their farm in the hands of nature.
Ripping down the fences, they set the land back to the wild and entrust its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild.
It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding experiments in Europe.
The screening will be followed by Q&A and an introduction to the Re-Wilding project at Wild Woodbury in Bere Regis with Rob Farrington, head of Wilder Landscapes at the Dorset Wildlife Trust.
Organisers said: “Enjoy organic spicy beef (or veggie) empanadas and a drink from the bar before the screening.”
Doors open at 6.30pm with the screening to begin at 7:30pm.
Tickets are £20 with supper, £15 without.
