Family releases heartfelt tribute to motorcyclist who died on A350 at West Ashton

THE family of a man who tragically died on the A350 West Ashton crossroads in December has issued a moving tribute.

Rob Love, 62, died when his Yamaha YP 400 crashed with a Volkswagen Taigo at around 9.10pm on December 17.

His family said: “Rob was a devoted husband, father and grampy/grampsie to his three grandchildren.

“Born to military parents in England but raised in Edinburgh with his sister Marnie, Rob joined the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards in 1980 and served as a gunner mech for 13 years which included active service during the Gulf War in 1990.

“Rob was based in Warminster where he met his wife, Sue, in 1987 and they married the following year.

“They enjoyed 37 years together with their son Stuart and stepchildren Antony and Richard.

“They settled in Westbury and resided there for over 30 years where Rob enjoyed many hobbies particularly walking his dogs Sam, Bruce and Ralphy and spending time socialising with his neighbours who he had become closer to during the pandemic with the affectionately named ‘Back Lane Gang’.

“He was also a passionate scooter rider who enjoyed organised events with the local biking community (the Maxi Muppets).

“Rob will be dearly missed by Sue, the boys, his grandchildren, sister, nephew, extended family and friends.

“You will forever be my always.”
