A MUCH-LOVED family dog that went missing from a kennel outside a Hillfield home has been found.

Police have confirmed Cocker Spaniel Gerry was located near Cerne Abbas this morning (December 10).

Officers from the Rural Crime Team had been deployed to the area, conducting house-to-house enquiries and reviewing CCTV and dashcam footage.

Police also released images of Gerry in the hope that a member of the public might recognise him or recall seeing something suspicious on the day he went missing.

Gerry was found safe and well and is now back at home.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers have thanked everyone who shared the appeal.
