Do your bit to send Christmas presents from Dorset around the world

A CHARITY effort to send Christmas present from Dorset to children around the world is underway.

Total Energy Services, which sends hundreds of boxes of gifts to young people around the globe as part of the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal, is accepting donations for 2023.

“Last year, we brought joy to more than 100 children in need around the world,” a spokesperson said.

“Help us spread more joy and love this Christmas.”

Organisers are keen to receive any of a raft of gift ideas, including:

  • Toys – stuffed animals, dolls, slinky, toy cars, trucks, boats, musical items, small balls, interactive toys, plastic figures, dinosaurs, hair clips.
  • Hygiene items – hairbrushes, flannels, toothbrushes, soap, hair bands
Educational – pencils, notepads, pencil cases, stampers, coloured pencils, paint sets
Clothing – hats, gloves, mittens, leggings, socks, tops

People are asked not to donate toothpaste, lotions, liquids, food or war-related items.

Donors also don’t need to provide shoeboxes, as organisers will pack and send on their behalf.

Items can be dropped off at Total Energy Solutions, Unit 1, Uplands Way, Blandford, DT11 7UZ. The deadline for donations is October 31.
