Cyclist taken to hospital after Dorchester hit-and-run crash

A CYCLIST was taken to hospital after a hit-and-run crash in Dorchester, police said.

The rider, a man in his 60s, was injured in a collision at the West Stafford roundabout at around 1pm on Thursday (July 10).

Dorset Police said he was “taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be serious”.

The driver of a grey Toyota involved in the incident failed to stop at the scene and police are keen to trace them.

PC Harry Chaplin, of Dorset Police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened or has relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.

“I would also like to appeal directly to the driver of the vehicle to please do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
