A WOMAN is set to appear in court after she reportedly drove at speed at horse riders in West Dorset before shouting abuse.
Dorset Police Rural Crime Team said three horse riders were travelling along the B3164 near Broadwindsor on December 18, 2024 when a car that was travelling at speed pulled up beside them.
The driver reportedly then started shouting and drove past the horse riders several times and beeped the car’s horn aggressively at them.
Police said a “local woman” in her 50s was interviewed in connection with the incident and she has now been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on June 25 for offences of driving without due care and attention and using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
“We take reports of road safety incidents of this nature seriously and would urge members of the public to show care and consideration for other road users,” a spokesperson said.
