FIREFIGHTERS at Blandford Fire Station have thanked the community after a wave of festive goodwill saw residents and businesses donate Christmas decorations to brighten up the station.
The crew said they had been touched by the response, with a number of local organisations stepping in to help create a festive atmosphere for crews over the Christmas period.
Ranmoor Estate Holidays donated lights to decorate the front of the station and DW Sweets provided a Christmas tree for inside. Coralie’s Crafts & Gifts also contributed decorations.
The station said the donations were a welcome boost for staff working throughout the festive season and a reminder of the strong support they receive from the Blandford Forum community.
Blandford Fire Station regularly remains operational over Christmas, with crews on call to respond to emergencies while many others are spending time with family and friends.
