Christmas lights cut and toilets vandalised during spate of vandalism in Blandford

WIRES have been cut on Christmas lights, glass smashed and walls daubed with graffiti in public toilets, and more during a spate of vandalism in Blandford.

Blandford Forum Town Council (BFTC) said recent weeks had seen a spike in anti-social behaviour, including the vandalism at public facilities at Marsh & Ham and the Tabernacle.

“Unfortunately, we have seen a rise in anti-social behaviour over the past few weeks involving the same group of young people,” a council spokesperson said.

“This has included vandalism of the public toilets at Marsh & Ham and the Tabernacle, with broken glass and graffiti, as well as the cutting of electrical cables and the destruction of decorations at the Woodhouse Gardens Christmas lighting scheme.

“The police have been informed and are aware of the situation.”
