Fresh CCTV appeal over serious assault at pub in Bridport

POLICE want to trace this person after a “serious assault” in a Bridport pub.

The incident unfolded at around midnight on Thursday, May 8, at The Bridport Dagger, in East Street.

“It was reported that the victim – a man aged in his 30s – was leaving the pub with a friend when a member of the pub staff was confronted by two other men who were refusing to leave,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“An altercation ensued in which the member of the pub staff was pushed to the floor and the victim was punched to the side of the head, causing him to also fall to the ground.

“The victim attended hospital for treatment to a serious jaw injury.”

Detective Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset County CID, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am now issuing a renewed CCTV image of a man I would like to identify.

“I would urge anyone who recognises him to please get in touch.

“This was a serious assault and we are doing all we can to identify who was responsible and hold them to account for their actions.”
