CCTV appeal after Rolex and Tag Heuer allegedly stolen from car in Dorchester

POLICE are keen to trace this person after Rolex and Tag Heuer watches were allegedly stolen from a car in Dorchester.

Officers have released CCTV of a person they would like to identify after an incident in Celtic Crescent some time between 11pm on Thursday, October 24, and 5.25am the following morning.

“Two watches were allegedly stolen from inside the car and are described as women’s Rolex and Tag Heuer watches,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Attempts were made by the alleged offenders to sell the watches at a jewellers in the town, but they were unsuccessful after staff at the shop became suspicious and the whereabouts of the watches are unknown.”

A 28-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and has been released on police bail while the investigation continues.

PC Glen Caddy, of Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are fully aware of a series of reports of vehicle crime in recent weeks and are exploring all lines of enquiry available to us.

“In this incident, we have obtained CCTV images of a man we would like to identify from the jeweller shop. If anyone has information about his identity, please get in touch with Dorset Police.

“Our patrols have been stepped up in the areas known to be affected and we would ask anyone with concerns to please speak with us.

“We would like to thank the public for their assistance and providing us with information so far in relation to the current series of vehicle crime reports – this is vital to enabling us to conduct investigations and obtain an intelligence picture of what is happening.”
