Building badly damaged by fire in Motcombe

A BUILDING in Motcombe was badly damaged by fire on Friday evening (June 9).

The incident, at Lodge Lane, was reported to firefighters at around 5pm.

Crews from across Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset attended the incident, at what is listed as Roland Heming Forest & Arb Ltd, attempting to keep cylinders in the structure cool.

“The large barn also contained cylinders which firefighters aimed to keep cooled, as they worked to extinguish the fire using 3 main line hoses fed by watercarriers,” a Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
