Blandford businesses sparkle in Christmas Window Competition

FESTIVE cheer was celebrated in Blandford this week as the winners of the Christmas Window Competition were presented with their awards.

Mayor Cllr Hugo Mieville and the chairman of the town & general purposes committee Cllr Rosemary Holmes toured the town spreading seasonal cheer and handing out accolades.

Top prize went to Sweetpea Florist, whose display impressed judges with its creativity and festive spirit.

Second place was awarded to Blandford Wax Removal & Hearing Centre, with Exclusively Yours Bridal Boutique taking third place.

The award for the best Charity or Not-for-Profit window was presented to Weldmar Hospice Care in recognition of its standout display.

Judges praised the large number of businesses that took part this year, noting the exceptionally high standard of decorations across the town.

In addition to the main prizes, highly commended certificates were awarded to Practically Magic, Indigo Tree, Cotton Moon, Off Camber Cycles and Age UK for their eye-catching and imaginative windows.

Organisers thanked all participating shops and organisations for their efforts in helping to create a festive atmosphere throughout Blandford during the Christmas season.

Special thanks were also extended to this year’s guest judges, Amy and JD Jenkins, for giving their time to support the competition.
