Arrest after woman in her 50s assaulted in Sherborne street

A WOMAN in her 50s suffered bruising after she was allegedly assaulted by a man in Sherborne.

Dorset Police are appealing for information after an incident in Horsecastles Lane at around 11am on Thursday, October 26.

A police spokesperson said it was reported the victim “was assaulted by a man who is known to her” and suffered bruising.

“Following enquiries, a 54-year-old man from Sherborne was arrested on suspicion of assault,” they added.

He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue, the spokesperson said.

Detective Constable Liam Moss, of Dorset County CID, said: “We have now obtained further details from the victim about the reported incident.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area and saw what happened, or may have captured anything on CCTV or dashcam footage, to please get in touch.”
