POLICE are trying to identify a man after screws were placed under the tyres of a speed camera van in north Dorset.
A speed camera van was parked up in the area of the A350 in Compton Abbas on August 31, when a man placed screws under the tyres between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
Fortunately for officers, the screws were found before they drove off and no damage was caused to the van.
The force is now trying to identify a man they believe can help enquiries.

PC Kier Dagnall, of the roads policing team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident, which could have resulted in severe damage to the vehicle and injury to the driver.
“On average, six people are injured on the roads in Dorset every day. Our safety camera team is integral as part of our drive to make the roads safer in our county and to prevent serious or fatal road traffic collisions.
“I am now in a position to issue an image of a man we would like to identify as part of our enquiries and would ask anyone who recognises him to please come forward.”
