TWO men are due in court next week charged with hunting with a dog in North Dorset.

The Dorset Police Rural Crime Team has been investigating an incident involving reports of fox hunting in the Sturminster Newton area on December 22 last year.

A spokesperson said “following detailed enquiries” two men – aged 22 and 34 and from Somerset, have been issued with postal requisitions to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on July 24 for an offence of hunting a wild animal with a dog under section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004.

“We will continue to thoroughly investigate all reports relating to alleged hunting offences and take action where appropriate,” a police spokesperson added.
