THREE people – including a 20-year-old from Blandford – have been charged with the murder of teenager Kyeron Wheeler in Poole.
Kyeron, 18, was found in Longfleet Road, Poole, at around 2.13am on Friday (June 19) with suspected stab injuries and taken to hospital, but sadly passed away soon after.
Police said it is believed he sustained injuries during an incident in Dale Close and was taken to Longfleet Road in a car.
After an investigation was launched by detectives from Dorset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT), three men have now been charged with murder.
The three men charged with the murder of Kyeron Wheeler are:
- Dluwadamilare Aremu, aged 22 and of Bletchley in Buckinghamshire – a Nigerian national who gave his self-defined ethnicity as Black African including Black British
- Trevor Gonzo, aged 22 and of London – a British national who gave his self-defined ethnicity as Black African including Black British
- Callum Roberts, aged 20 and of Blandford – a British national who gave his self-defined ethnicity as white British
The three men have also been charged with possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place, acquiring/using/possessing criminal property and two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A.
Roberts has also been charged with an additional count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
All three men are due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (June 23).
Detective Superintendent Neil Third, of MCIT, said: “This has been a complex and fast-moving investigation as we have worked diligently to piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident.
“Our thoughts remain very much with the family and loved ones of Kyeron Wheeler and we have continued to keep the family updated with developments in the investigation.
“After extensive enquiries, we have consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service and it has authorised charges of murder against three suspects.
“This matter will now be the subject of active court proceedings and it is vital that the criminal justice process is allowed to follow its course without prejudice. It would therefore be inappropriate for us to comment any further on the circumstances surrounding this incident at this time and we would urge members of the public to refrain from speculation and sharing of information online or on social media.
“Our officers will continue to provide an increased policing presence in areas impacted by this incident as we fully recognise the impact on the local community. These officers can be approached by anyone with questions or concerns.”
