POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a break-in at a commercial site in Gillingham left significant damage and stolen materials.
The burglary took place at a chemical treatment centre in Common Mead Lane sometime between 1pm on Saturday, April 25 and 8am on Sunday, April 26.
Offenders forced entry to the site, stealing copper wiring and causing extensive damage to storage areas.
Officers are now carrying out enquiries and urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity to come forward.
PC Ashlea Gale, of Gillingham Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “We are carrying out enquiries into this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area during the relevant timeframe.
“I would also urge any residents in the vicinity of Common Mead Lane with home CCTV or doorbell cameras to please check their footage for anything that might assist our investigation.”
The theft of copper wiring has become an increasingly common issue, often leaving businesses facing costly repairs and disruption.
Residents living nearby are being asked to remain vigilant and report anything unusual, particularly vehicles or individuals seen near the site overnight.
