POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a moped was stolen in the early hours of the morning in Sturminster Newton.

A blue Sym Orbit scooter with distinctive yellow decals was taken from Stour View Close between 3am and 5am on Thursday, February 26.

Officers from Dorset Police say enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and recover the vehicle.

PC Ed Lewis of the Sturminster Newton Neighbourhood Policing Team said officers are keen to reunite the victim with their moped as soon as possible.

He is urging anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area at the time to come forward.

Residents living in and around Stour View Close, Bath Road, Honeymead Lane and Rabin Hill are also being asked to check any home CCTV or doorbell camera footage for anything that could assist the investigation.
