A ROAD in Blandford remains closed as firefighters respond to flooding, assisting residents and ensuring public safety.
Resources from across Dorset have been deployed to Blandford Fire Station, with crews carrying out welfare checks on residents along East Street and conducting rescues where needed.
Those choosing to stay put have been provided with food, generously donated by the local M&S store.
The road is closed between Fishers Close and Bayfran Way, and emergency services stress that the closure applies to both pedestrians and vehicles.

The area is particularly hazardous due to sewage in the water and raised manhole covers within the flood zone.
Firefighters continue to monitor the situation, working to keep the community safe while urging people to avoid the area.
Authorities thank the public for their patience and remind residents to follow official guidance until waters recede and it is safe to return.
