DORSET will play host to a special event next month to tackle litter and champion sustainable solutions to create a cleaner, greener county.

The Litter Free Dorset Summit 2026 brings together environmental leaders, community groups, local authorities and businesses on Wednesday, January 14 at the Shire Hall Museum in Dorchester.

The full-day event focuses on innovative approaches to waste reduction, circular economy practices and strategies to safeguard Dorset’s iconic landscapes and coastline.

Attendees will have the chance to network, exchange ideas and collaborate on projects that make a real difference in their communities.

Keynote speakers include Dan Dicker, founder of Circular & Co; Toby Blume from Social Engine; Roy Beale, founder of Clean Jurassic Coast; Marten Gregory from Dorset Council’s recycling team; and Alexandra Guerra Unwin, business manager at Lush Green Hub.

Emma Teasdale, co-ordinator of Litter Free Dorset and organiser of the event, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the first ever Litter Free Dorset Summit.

“We want to collaborate with others to find real solutions to the issue of litter in Dorset. Whether you’re a community litter picker, business owner, environmentalist, or just keen to know more, all are welcome to this exciting new event.”

Tickets are available for a suggested donation of £10, which includes lunch and refreshments. Booking can be made via Eventbrite.
