POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a late-night burglary at a supermarket in Gillingham on Christmas Day.
At around 11.30pm on Thursday, December 25, three people forced entry to the foyer area of the Asda store in Station Road.
The group attempted to steal money from a cash machine inside the store but were unable to access the ATM and left empty-handed.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious around the time of the incident.
PC Emily Harfield of North Dorset Police said: “We are continuing to investigate this break-in and I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, including unusual vehicle movements, to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who was driving in the vicinity around the relevant time and may have dashcam footage to assist our enquiries.”
