Arrest made after early morning burglary at Dorchester Sainsbury’s

OFFICERS are appealing for information after a commercial burglary at the Sainsbury’s store on Bridport Road in Dorchester.

Police received a report of the break-in at 3am on Monday, December 29, with a suspect reportedly seen making off in the direction of Hawthorne Road.

Entry to the store had been forced and scratch cards were stolen.

A 37-year-old local man has since been arrested on suspicion of burglary following swift action by the Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team.

PC Glen Caddy of the Dorchester neighbourhood policing team said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has information that might assist our investigation.

“I would also like to hear from anyone who may have captured relevant dashcam, home CCTV or doorbell camera footage.”
