Man detained after dramatic crash in Shaftesbury street

FOUR people allegedly fled a vehicle after a crash in Shaftesbury on Tuesday morning (August 5).

The incident, in Allen Road, happened at around 10.45am, police said, with four people allegedly running away after the crash, with one person detained.

“If you saw anything or have any information, CCTV or dashcam footage, that could help us identify and locate the individuals who left the scene, please get in touch,” said a Dorset Police spokesperson.

“We rely on our local community to help us to bring offenders to justice. Your information could allow us to be in the right place at the right time to apprehend them.

“If you were one of the individuals fleeing from the scene, we urge you to do the right thing and contact the police.”
