EIGHT women from the Bruton area are taking on a mountain of a challenge to raise awareness and funds for an important cause.
The Peaks in Pants team will attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon – in their pants – to raise funds to donate a mountain of new underwear to vulnerable women.
The team are aiming to complete the challenge in three days, starting next Thursday (May 1).
Louise Hutton, Elizabeth Gasson-Hargreaves, Rebecca Grainzevelles, Alison Rigby, Claire Rigby, Mel Rushe, Sophi Unwin and Sally Chamberlain have been training hard over the past four months so that they can conquer the three peaks and help end pant poverty in their communities.
The challenge came about as the women wanted to support the essential work of the charity Let’s Get Our Knickers In A Twist.

Set up in 2022 by Serena Chamberlain, the non-profit provides women in need with essential underwear, aiming to spread dignity, confidence, and comfort one pair at a time.
The Peaks in Pants team has already raised more than £7,500 so far.
A spokesperson for the group said: “Many run very successful clothing donation centres, but the item that is most often requested is new underwear.
“So we are ready to address this need and end pant poverty one pair at a time.
“If you would like to be part of our big pants challenge then please support us at https://gofund.me/06f33da3.”
