Man comes forward after Dorchester hit-and-run

A MAN has made himself known to police after a driver failed to stop after hitting an 80 year-old pedestrian in Dorchester.

The incident happened at the Bridport Road near the junction with Williams Avenue at around 6pm on Monday (November 11) and involved a car, described as possibly a dark blue hatchback.

Police say the driver failed to stop at the scene and made off in the direction of Poundbury.

The pedestrian’s injuries are not described as life threatening.

A man is now assisting police with their enquiries following an appeal and no arrests have been made.
