Pair released after probe into death of man at holiday park near Dorchester

A MAN and a woman arrested after a holidaymaker was found dead in a lake at a Dorset holiday park have been released without charge.

The pair were arrested after a man in his 70s and from Birmingham was found dead in Heron Lake, at the Warmwell Holiday Park, in Crossways near Dorchester, at around 12.27am on June 23.

“After initial enquiries, a man and woman – both aged in their 50s and also from Birmingham – were arrested on suspicion of murder as further investigative work was carried out into the circumstances surrounding the death,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“The woman was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and both were released under investigation.

“After carrying out extensive enquiries, detectives are now satisfied there was no third party involvement in the death and the man and woman have been released from under investigation. They will face no further police action.

“Dorset Police will continue to carry out enquiries on behalf of HM Coroner as part of the inquest process.”
