Man comes forward following report of vulnerable Shaftesbury man being taken advantage of

A MAN has come forward after police appealed for help to track down someone who reportedly took advantage of a vulnerable man in Shaftesbury for £250.

No arrests have been made.

It was reported that on July 3, a man approached a vulnerable man in the Tesco car park in Christy’s Lane to ask to borrow £250 to pay for car repairs.

The victim was confused and went with the man to draw out and hand over the cash.

Subsequent enquiries by the victim found that no cash was owed to the garage and the man had no connection to the garage.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Following enquiries by officers and a CCTV appeal, a man has now come forward and is assisting with the investigation. No arrests have been made.”
