NEW dates have been confirmed for the 2024 Gillingham & Shaftesbury Spring Show.

On Tuesday, organisers announced the planned event on April 20 and 21 had been called off due to bad weather making it impossible to set up the Turnpike Showground, in Motcombe.

Now, they have announced the rescheduled event will run on Saturday and Sunday, June 8 and 9 – when spring officially still has 11 days to run.

Show organiser Cat Harris said she and her team have confirmed all the main ring attractions, including the UK’s only arena stunt clown comedy act, heavy horses, dancing ponies, racing pigs and the incredible Dorset Axemen, can still appear.

Cat said: “In a delightful turn of events, we’re thrilled to share some wonderful news about our beloved Spring Countryside Show.

“After the recent announcement regarding the necessary postponement due to the unseasonably heavy rainfall, our team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to find a solution. And we’ve done just that.

“We are overjoyed to announce that the Spring Countryside Show has been reorganised for June 8 and 9 this year.

She added: “We want to reassure our traders and ticket holders that bookings and tickets will automatically be transferred to the new dates or a full refund will the given.”
