Man charged over Shaftesbury crash that left woman seriously injured

A MAN has been charged with careless driving after a crash near Shaftesbury that left a woman with serious injuries.

The incident happened on the A350 near the Littledown Business Park at around 3pm on Thursday, May 25 last year.

“Emergency services attended and a woman aged in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Two other people were also treated for minor injuries.”

A 40-year-old man from Hastings in Sussex was arrested in connection with the incident and now, following an investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT), has been charged with causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving.

The man is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 31.
