20 firefighters tackle Tisbury shed fire that spread to oil tank

FIRE crews faced a four-hour-long battle with a blaze in Tisbury that spread to an oil tank last night.

Firefighters from Tisbury and Shaftesbury were called to Churchill Close at 10.43pm yesterday (July 30) after hearing that a fire in a shed had spread to an oil tank, a neighbouring property and fences.

20 firefighters, four fire engines and a water carrier in total were deployed to contain the fire.

Crews used three hose reels and three main jets to extinguish the fire before eventually coming to a stop at 2.38am.
