Yeovil pair seriously injured in motorcycle crash on A30 near Sherborne

TWO people from Yeovil were seriously injured after a crash involving a motorbike and a car near Sherborne. 

The crash happened at around 9.40pm on Tuesday (January 2) on the A30 Yeovil Road.

A motorcyclist in his 40s and his passenger, a woman in her 30s, were taken to hospital after the incident. 

Emergency services responded to the incident and roads were closed. 

PC Mark Burton, of the roads policing team, said: “We are carrying out an investigation to establish the full circumstances of this collision and I am keen to hear from anyone with information that could assist our enquiries.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed the collision, or the manner of driving of the vehicles involved prior to it, as well as anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us.

“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding as the road closures were in place.”
