Yeovil Art Group’s new year exhibition

The Gallery at the Octagon Theatre, Yeovil, is currently hosting a New Year Exhibition of paintings and drawings by talented local amateur artists. With some 45 framed works of art displayed in the theatre’s café and bar and a further 68 unframed works available for sale, the exhibition will form a stunning additional attraction for theatregoers. The exhibition is open each weekday afternoon from 1-4pm and every performance evening until February 15. Admission is free.

The Mayor of Yeovil, Mrs Evie Potts-Jones was given a tour of the paintings by exhibition organiser Elizabeth Webster and was fascinated by the range of talents on show.

The Yeovil Art Group can count a wide mixture of ages and genders and all levels of skills amongst its membership. The group meets once a week for popular and relaxed general art sessions. Members can also attend regular workshops and instructive critiques by professional artists as well as occasional field trips. Two or three exhibitions each year give them a chance to show their paintings and maybe sell them.

Further information on the group can be obtained from their website: www.yeovilartgroup.com
