A WOMAN sadly died after a crash on the A303 on Monday (December 5).

The three-vehicle crash happened on the route at Podimore at around 7.50am and involved two cars and a lorry.

“Unfortunately, a woman died at the scene, and another man has been taken to hospital as a precaution,” an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family during this difficult time, and they are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.”

The road was closed for most of the day while an investigation into the incident was carried out.
