Woman in her 90s injured after being hit by car in Shaftesbury

A WOMAN in her 90s suffered ‘serious injuries’ after being hit by a car in Shaftesbury.

Police are appealing for information after the incident, which happened in the High Street at around 12.25pm on Saturday, 3 September.

A Dorset Police spokesperson said it was reported the woman was walking across the road when she was involved in a collision with an orange car, believed to be a Honda Jazz.

“The pedestrian was treated by the ambulance and did not immediately require hospital treatment,” they added.

However, she subsequently attended hospital for treatment, and it was reported that her injuries were believed to be serious.

PC Kier Dagnall, of the Dorset Police traffic unit, said: “We are continuing to make enquiries into this collision, and I am appealing for any witnesses to please come forward.

“I appreciate this incident was some time ago, but it was not reported to us until several days afterwards and it has since been established that the victim has been left with serious injuries.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may still have dashcam that captured the incident.”
