Woman in her 70s arrested after crash in Poundbury near Dorchester

A WOMAN in her 70s has been arrested after a crash in Dorchester.

The incident happened at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (July 5) at the roundabout between the junctions with Peverell Avenue West and Bridport Road.

The driver of a blue Renault Modus, a woman aged in her 70s from the Dorchester area, did not sustain any injuries in the incident, but was arrested on suspicion of a driving offence.

She has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

PC Cristopher Windows, of Dorchester police, said: “I am keen to speak with anybody who witnessed the collision or may have captured anything of relevance on dashcam footage.

“I understand a member of the public stopped to help following the incident, but left the scene prior to police arrival, and I am appealing for them to please get in touch.”
