Woman due in court over Dorchester crash that killed cyclist Justin Loveland

A WOMAN is due to appear in court next week in connection with a crash in Dorchester that killed 50-year-old Justin Loveland.

Cyclist Mr Loveland passed away after an incident in Bridport Road involving a white Fiat Panda and a bicycle at around 7.35am on Friday, May 16, last year.

“Emergency services attended and the cyclist – 50-year-old Justin Loveland – was taken to Southampton Hospital where he sadly died on the evening of Saturday, May 17, 2025,” a Dorset Police spokesperson said.

“Following detailed enquiries by officers from Dorset Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Team, a 54-year-old woman from Weymouth has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 29, 2026, for an offence of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.”
