Wincanton plc site up for sale or rent – though “no final decision” on land

THE Wincanton plc premises in the town from which it took its name is up for sale or rent – although the company says it has made no decision over the site.

In September, the company confirmed it is now operating only “limited operations” from the Hawker’s Bridge yard after the loss of a contract with dairy supplier, Muller.

The signs, advertising the site for sale or rent with agent Savills, have been installed in recent weeks.

And when your New Blackmore Vale asked for comment on future plans for the Wincanton site, a company spokesperson said: “We continue to explore all viable options on the future of our site in the town of Wincanton, and no final decision has been taken.”

Previously, the firm told your New Blackmore Vale the Hawker’s Bridge site would ‘currently’ remain in company ownership.
