VISITORS to Longleat may have been expecting to see some big animals – but have also spotted a big beast of Hollywood in the form of A-lister Brad Pitt.

The star, famed for roles in the likes of Fight Club and Seven, is understood to have been filming scenes at the Wiltshire estate – though which production he is working on is unclear.

Pitt – and his production company – are understood to be involved with two films, The Tiger and Heart of the Beast, which may be utilising the park as locations.

In Heart of the Beast, Pitt plays a former Special Forces soldier who winds up stranded in the brutal Alaskan wilderness following a plane crash.

Longleat’s grounds could be serving as a location for the survival thriller.

Meanwhile, the 62-year-old is also producing The Tiger, an adaptation of John Vaillant’s non-fiction book, which tells the story of an animal activist/game warden hunting a tiger which is targeting villagers encroaching on its habitat.

Again, the Longleat surroundings could provide the perfect backdrop for such a movie in a controlled environment.

Whatever the reason, the presence of a Hollywood legend at the Wiltshire attraction is certainly causing a stir among visitors, with some areas cordoned off, preventing onlookers getting up close with the stars and set.

It is understood staff are prohibited from approaching celebrity visitors, while others are confused by their sightings.

One person did, however, appear to have interacted with the star, posting: “Brad Pitt was at Longleat today, very nice chap.”

Longleat has previously provided the setting for a number of TV and film productions, not least as the location for long-running BBC series, Animal Park.

It also provided settings for 2000 Bollywood blockbuster, Mohabbatein, and The Four Seasons, based on Rosamunde Pilcher’s best-selling novels, The Shell Seekers and Coming Home.
