Warning over fake notes being used in Dorchester

BUSINESSES in Dorchester are being urged to be vigilant as police said they are aware of fraudulent notes being used in the town.

Dorchester Neighbourhood Policing Team (DNPT) said individuals have reportedly bought low-cost items and handed over fake £20 and £50 notes.

The force said it will continue to conduct patrols and monitor the situation.

A spokesperson for DNPT said: “Please make sure all tender passes your usual checks; if in doubt, seek advice from the bank.”
