WATCH: Vehicles stuck in flood on major Wincanton road

VEHICLES in the busy rush-hour commute were facing delays in Wincanton after cars and vans got stuck in floodwater.

Heavy rainfall throughout the afternoon (May 9) saw waters accumulate on Lawrence Hill.

While most drivers didn’t try to pass, the flood ended in disaster for some, with a number of vehicles appearing to get stuck in the floodwater.

Firefighters were on the scene, making efforts to free the water into a stream running alongside the route.

The impassable road was causing some tailbacks on the nearby roundabout as drivers made their way home.
