Bridport U14s 15 – 51 North Dorset U14s
It was a game of 2 halves at the under 14’s first match of 2022. It took the boys a little while to wake up, but they showed their proper form once they got going. The game started with an early try from Bridport, but Will Hoskins scored North Dorset’s first try from their first competitive line out shortly after. By the end of the first half, the score was even, with both teams having scored three tries. Kit Dixon scored the team’s second try and, after an excellent tackle from Rares Nicoara, Sam Barnes scored North Dorset’s third.
By the second half and playing the U14 rules for the first time, the boys were wide awake and showed Bridport what they were made of. Ben Mitchell scored the first try of the half, and to make things even better, a brilliant conversion from Sam Barnes added the two points. After a brilliant run, Sid scored the team’s fifth try, and Alex Hodges supported his team by doing some intelligent runs and pushing through the Bridport defence. As Sam Barnes and Kit Dixon scored two more tries, the boys were on fire. Thanks to a superb catch from Cass Tatman, Flynn Webber scored the penultimate try. Rares sealed the victory with a brilliant run and scored the final try.
Overall, the result was 15-51 to North Dorset
