TWO people were arrested after police found them loading suspected stolen machinery into vans in north Dorset.

Officers from the Dorset Police Rural Crime Team were called to the scene on Saturday (November 11), following reports of a stolen digger being tracked to an address.

It had been reported the digger was taken from an address in Magna Road, Bournemouth, some time between October 28 and 30.

“When officers arrived, they located two males loading up vans with what they suspected to be stolen machinery,” a police spokesperson said.

“As a result, a 41-year-old male of no fixed abode and a 41-year-old male from the Southampton area were arrested (on suspicion of) handling stolen goods.”

Both been bailed with conditions not to enter Dorset, they added.
